Matthew 24:3-14 (NKJV,) Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” …  (emphasis mine)

He puts quite a list of future happenings in between these two statements but the last one has always held my attention…

Matthew 24:14 (NKJV ,) And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. (emphasis mine)

The reason I live Mt.28:18-20 is this scripture passage.  I know that Jesus will not bring the end until we do this – “preach the Gospel in all the world”. There is no way to do that without making disciples. The majority of the people in this world will not be attending Christian crusades or conferences and definitely will not be attending any “church building”. So the reality is this, we must go make disciples to complete Jesus prerequisite commission to bring the end.

I have been traveling the world training Christian leaders and believers to do discipleship and walk in Intimacy with Father, Son and Holy Spirit for about 18 years now and before that living and giving it to believers here in the Northwest.

People are always asking me when I think the end will be or telling me “Jesus could come at any moment”. My response is always the same, Matthew 24:14. “When we complete this then we can look forward to the end and His coming!” – “but not until” !

My response seems to stop the conversation no matter what. Most believers want Him to come again and believe He will do that without us taking any responsibility, without having to leave the comfort of our home or church building. Most do not believe they are hindering or can hinder His coming in any way! When I give them this scripture it seems to stun them. They have no response.

What I am wondering tonight as I write this is, “WHY ARE BELIEVERS AFRAID OF BEING OBEDIENT TO THE DESIRES OF JESUS WHEN THEY SAY THEY LOVE HIM?  Why is it we tend to think we can avoid standing before God as He asks, “How did you show you love and belief in my Son Jesus?” What proof do you have that shows you believe?

What relationship exists without signs from both of the parties involved that show their commitment? It has to be more than words. People all over the world pray, sing and go to the temples of their god.

Do we as Christians have anything above that to offer the world? – Not if we don’t GO! The miraculous presence and Love of our God can only be received when we show our intimacy through sharing more than words, as we pray for and disciple those in our world.
